THREE SHADES OF GREEN will have its official unveiling on
September 10 th at 6:00 – 7:30 pm at The University of Tennessee –
Chattanooga. This commission sculpture
came about with the urging and support of my dear patron, Ruth Holmberg and the
University.
If you are
in town come on by for the celebration.
My sculpture concept for this project is based on our
contemporary environmental concerns. The
sculpture presents three figures setting on recycled turbine blades in various
shades of green. Each figure represents
the students of UTC and reminds them that they will and do hold the answers to
today's problems and the future belongs to them. The sculpture will be fabricated of aluminum
and structural fiberglass, with some stainless steel. There will be three pieces, each of which
will be about 15 feet high. Each plinth
will be mounted on a concrete foundation at a mixture of heights.
